In-person payments

Card machines that fit how you trade — not the other way round.

From a single countertop terminal to a fleet of mobile devices, the right hardware depends on where you sell and how. We help you choose the category, then set it up properly.

Terminal categories

The main types, and where each earns its place.

We describe categories rather than push a specific model — the right device is the one that suits your counter, your floor and your connectivity, which is a conversation, not a catalogue.

Countertop

Wired to power and network at a fixed till point. The workhorse for shops and reception desks where a terminal stays put and reliability matters more than portability.

Portable

Wireless over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth within your premises — handed to the customer, taken to the table, carried across the shop floor. Ideal for hospitality and larger retail spaces.

Mobile & 4G

Built-in mobile connectivity so you can take payment anywhere with a signal — markets, deliveries, events, trades on site. No fixed line, no venue Wi-Fi to depend on.

Unattended

For vending, parking, kiosks and self-service, where no staff member is present. Ruggedised, tamper-resistant and built to run without a person at the terminal.

EPOS-integrated

The terminal talks to your point-of-sale or till system, so the amount is sent across automatically and reconciliation isn't a manual job at the end of the night.

Pay-at-table & tipping

For hospitality: split bills, add gratuities and take payment beside the guest. Faster table turns, fewer errors, and tips handled cleanly.

What actually matters when choosing

Six things worth settling before you sign.

01

Connectivity

Fixed line, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or 4G — the right answer depends on where you trade and how dependable the local signal is. It's the first thing to get right.

02

Battery & durability

If the terminal leaves the counter, battery life and build matter. A busy service or a full market day is a real test a spec sheet rarely captures.

03

Tipping & gratuities

Prompted tipping changes takings in hospitality. Consider how tips are added, split and reported before you commit to a device.

04

Refunds & voids

How simply staff can refund or void a transaction affects day-to-day operations and your customers' experience at the counter.

05

Offline mode

Some terminals can store and forward transactions when the network drops. If your signal is patchy, this is the difference between trading and turning custom away.

06

Integration

A terminal that plugs into your EPOS, bookings or accounts saves hours and prevents mismatches. Standalone is simpler; integrated is faster at scale.

Not sure which terminal fits? That's the point of a conversation.
